Matthew 28:18-20
Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” NKJV
Hello, my name is Youth Pastor Ethan Rose with Teens For Christ Connection from a vibrant farming community in Agra, Kansas. I was born here, grew up here, went to school here and after college returned as the Lord led. A special shout out to Derek Post, United Methodist Church, and the rest of our team who coordinated and led the effort to plant this Cross today.
My father is a farmer who over time has planted, grown, and harvested everything from Corn, Soybeans, Milo to Wheat. Mom was a teacher. I am the middle of three boys. Our family has been committed to the Lord from the beginning and Sunday became our day of rest and time to love and serve the Lord.
When I was in eighth grade our Teens For Christ Connection group attended a Josh McDowell rally for Jesus. I knew about Jesus, I learned what the Bible said about Jesus, but it was at this rally that scriptures came alive and Jesus captured my heart.
My High school years were filled with learning to lead for Jesus. Mission trips, bible studies and a hunger to learn more. When I was a senior it was at camp that we were challenged to serve and minister for Jesus for a lifetime. I knew my direction was set.
I attended Central Christian College, where I served as Student Body Chaplin. And upon graduation secured an internship for a year at a Christian camp in Colorado. After that year I returned to Agra and joined the staff of Teens For Christ Connection. The Lord brought me full circle. I would share what Jesus had done for me to others in the Agra area.
Our mission here is “Connecting teenagers to the truth of Jesus Christ, teaching and equipping them to live out the great commission.” From a rural farming community in the Center Point of the United States we have set the sights of our Teens around the world. Thinking BIG for Jesus.
We teach the Bible and then apply it in real life. From local ministry out reaches to far away places like Jamaica, Ecuador and beyond. Living the great commission. Homeless in Kansas City, to those challenged on Reservations, to Disaster Relief Fires — our Teens are witnessing for Jesus.
But there is a part of us that transcends all the traditional approaches. We will fill a van and head down the road praying for a time, destination, and place. When we receive notice from the Holy Spirit, off the van and onto the streets. No agenda, no projects, no expectations — we just GO. It is here that our Teens learn what it is like to speak for Jesus and let the Holy Spirit guide and lead, serving those who crisscross our path. The results are out of this world!
One of my favorite Bible verses is Romans 15:13 “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” NKJV
Hello, I’m Roger, Teens For Christ Connection team member: To me, the Cross is a symbol of Hope, and of the unending Love and Sacrifice of Jesus Christ. It is also a reminder of the great lengths that He will go to have a Personal Relationship with each of us. Also that we are worthy of his Grace, because He chose to die on the Cross for You and me.
Music is an important part of my walk with the Lord. I would like to encourage everyone to listen to a song called “It’s About the Cross” by the Ball Brothers. The song tells the whole story.
Hello, I’m Derek, Teens For Christ Connection team member: If the Cross could talk I would want it to tell people how Christ died on a Cross so we can have eternal life in Heaven.
Prayer: Father thank you for all the leaders, teachers and helpers who year after year make it a priority in their lives to pass on Jesus Christ to the youth in incredible and creative ways. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
