“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” NKJV
Hello, my name is Pastor Karabo Koosimile of the Apostolic Faith Mission Church, AFM, Kasane, Botswana. Everyone calls me Pastor Karabo. I grew up about 30 miles west of the Capital City of Gaborone in a big village of Molepolole, the oldest of five children. Our dad was a government administrator and mom stayed at home and took care of all of us. Our dad did not care much for church. It was mom who took us to church and made sure we were in Sunday school.
Church was a time for being with friends and the social part kept me there. I listened to the sermons but did not give my life to Christ until I was 19 years old. My uncle cared enough about me to share the love of Jesus. He told me how much Jesus loved me and gave His life for me on a Cross. He witnessed to me how Jesus died for my sins and when I acknowledged it, I became a new man in Christ. I knew I had to follow Jesus and share Him with others.
I was 19 and had lived a good life but my friends and I were clubbers. Just hanging out and we were directionless. When I received Jesus, everything changed. I became hungry to learn how to pray. I wanted to learn more. I wanted to read the Bible I had heard all my life. But now I wanted to read it on my own.
I joined Scripture Union to learn all I could. I started sharing my love for Jesus to everyone. A heart of evangelism swelled up in me. In 2006 I heard the Lord speak to me. He said, “I want you to be in full time ministry and shepherd my flock. They are perishing and need to hear that I died for them and rose from the dead so they can join me in everlasting life.” I said, “Yes Lord, I will.”
I went to Bible school in 2007 and graduated in 2009 becoming Pastor of Lentsweletau AFM. Our little church grew as I told everyone I met about the love of Jesus. It was then I met Tuduetso Laone, we married and now have one son, Omaatla Refentse Koosimile.
Then I heard the voice of the Lord once again. He said, “Your work here is done!” Then a few days later I received a call from AFM Kasane Church asking me to come and preach. I preached at the church. Soon after the Pastor who was Pastoring there was called to another church in Francistown, Botswana. When their Pastor was transferred the church wrote me a letter asking me to come. Then I heard the Lord again speak, “Go to this church and plant many more.” That was in 2015. So far, we have planted four new churches with many more to come.
The Holy Spirit is using me in ministry in many areas. Prayer and healing just to mention a few. Many come from far and wide to receive a touch from the Lord. Diabetes has been healed, high blood pressure reversed, and the lame walk to mention some.
Casting out demons reveals the tricks of Satan. A young lady walked in lust. Every man she met she was tempted to go to bed with. I confronted the demon. The demon called the young lady his wife and the young lady said. “The demon told me if I request to be released, he would kill me.” The demon was casted out and the young lady was totally delivered. She has returned to normal as a member of our church.
A pregnant lady came for help. Her pregnancy was not going well. She had some serious complications. I saw the baby was not turned properly for birth. After prayer Jesus turned the baby and the baby was born healthy.
I had a vision of a woman I know who was agonizing over a big decision. In the vision the Lord was telling me to tell her that “everything would be alright.” I immediately sent her a text assuring her that what she is dealing with, the Lord says, “everything would be alright.” And then she testified saying, this is just what I needed.”
The Lord has anointed me to be a watchman for Him. I have assembled a group of five men who pray together every morning. Praying for me, this church, community, nation, Africa and the world. The world needs Jesus and it starts right here. Every day we end by praying for the Peace of Jerusalem, who is Jesus Christ.
My favorite Bible verse is 1 John 5:14 “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” NKJV
My most enjoyable part of ministry is prayer. I started with prayer and continue with prayer and as a watchman for the Lord I am consumed by prayer.
Our church motto from the very beginning has been: No Cross No Crown. Today we received our Cross which symbolizes to me what Jesus did for me when he died and rose again from the grave, so I can share everlasting life with him.
This Cross planted is a landmark for all to see that this is a church where Jesus Christ resides. This is the house of the Lord. Come here and you will find Jesus.
Editor’s Note: Many times, during a Cross planting workers who do not know Jesus receive Him. But this Cross planting was different: We received an email from one of our ccm Board Members that he was praying that many would come to the Lord through our Cross plantings in Africa 2019. Hours later three workers were sent to prepare the hole for the coming Cross. They were not Christians.
Before we even arrived to plant the Cross, Pastor Karabo had led all three to the Lord. It was a Hallelujah moment. FIRE IN THE HOLE!
Prayer: Father thank You for the salvation that is available to everyone who believes Jesus Christ is Lord. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
